LOL's

I would never remember these things if I didn't write them down..

While camping, Kaydee couldn't get over the fact that the toilet at our campground couldn't flush.  So at Mirror lake, when the toilet was the same way, she couldn't believe it.  I'll never forget the big eyes she had as she looked at me and whispered "It's the same as the other one.  It. Doesn't. Even. Have. a FLUSHER!"

I was sitting on the bleachers at gymnastics and Maycee was standing in front of me eating fruit snacks.  She showed me one so I asked her what color it was.  Then she pointed to my purse and said "What color?"  I told her and then she immediately starts yelling "What color BUTT?  What color BUTT?" as she is pointing to her keester!  There were a lot of people around.  I didn't know what to do.  Lol.

Maycee has to point out everything in the store.  So at Target she was pointing at the beer and yelling "Mamas drinks!  Mamas drinks!" I guess she thought it was diet pepsi?  Lol.

We got a new van and got rid of our SUV.  I was sooo excited.  After swimming lessons one day we were coming home and we passed the car dealership.  I said "that's where we got our van and where our old car is."  The kids were asking if they were going to sell our old car to someone else.  I told them yes and Sydnee thought about it a second and then said "I bet someone will go there and drive our old car, then just go put it back and leave.  They won't want it either."  LOL!  I think she is right!

Yesterday Maycee was mad about something.  And Kaydee told me "When Maycee is whining and crying like that, you should think about putting her in timeout.  You should really, really think about it."

Swimming Lessons...... Oh dear..

If there is one thing I did NOT want my kids to get from me, it's my fear of water.  And guess what?  Sydnee and Kaydee didn't pass their first level of swimming lessons!  They hate it!  They don't want their face wet.  They improved a little, but not much.  So they are supposed to repeat the class again.  Problem is, they are full!  So by the time I can get them in again, they will probably be even more scared of the water.  Dang!!!!!

5 and 6 year well checks.

I was really just hoping for a quick, easy appointment.  Jeff was working so I had to take all of the kids with me at once.  It really didn't turn out quick OR easy...
Sydnee just isn't growing the way they think she should.  She hardly grew at all this year.  In fact her and Kaydee are both 34 lbs and 39 inches tall.  They are within a half a pound and a half an inch of each other.  She is at a healthy weight for her height, but she is not growing taller.  So the doctor decided she wanted to do some testing and make sure there is nothing going on.  She mentioned maybe a growth hormone restriction.  At the office they did an xray on her hand which tells them her bone age.  They also did a urine test.  And we had to go to the hospital for a bunch of labwork.
Kaydee had to have her finger poked to test for lead and she screamed bloody murder.  That made Sydnee almost faint.  So she had to lay down.  I knew taking her for blood work was going to be hard.  We finally made it out of the doctors office, and Jeff left work so I could take Sydnee to the hospital without the other kids.  I didn't tell her where we were going because I didn't want her to pass out before we even got there.  Luckily we had a really great nurse who was awesome with Sydnee.  She was great at keeping her calm, took EIGHT vials of blood very painlessly, and took care of her while she recovered.  She did have to take Sydnee out in a wheelchair because she was so woozy but once we got home she laid down for a while and then she was good.  She still doesn't like to talk about it though.
The results took over a week, because some of the bloodwork was complex, but we finally got the results.  Her bloodwork was normal, but her bone scan showed her bones to be developed like that of a 3 year old.  So we have to take her to an endocrynologist.  I wasn't sure what all of it meant at first, but from my research (we will find out if I'm wrong when she gets in to the specialist), the bone scan they do is actually looking at the carpel bones in the wrist.  We are not born with all of the bones and they develop as we get older.  But I also read that it is good to have a bone age that is less than your actual age, because it means you still have a lot of years of growing to do.  If your bone age was higher than your actual age, it means you are closer to being done growing.
So I'm sure she will have more testing done at the endocrynologist and then we will go from there.  There is still hope that she's just a late bloomer, so we are trying not to worry.  And lets face it, she doesn't come from a family of strikingly tall people ;)

Happy 4th!

We celebrated by going to the Centerville parade, and that was it.  Maycee wasn't feeling well, and we were all tired from our camping trip since we barely got home the day before.

This was the best picture I could get of them in their cute clothes.  Maycee was in no mood.

I just found this funny.  Kaydee and Madison sword fighting with their suckers.  Don't ask me how they even thought this up.  Lol.

Camping with the bears!

Ok, so we actually never saw a bear, but apparently the Uintas are crawling with them this summer and I was nervous even before I knew that!  The campground ranger told Jeff there had been 2 sightings there this summer, but he didn't tell me that until we got home.  Then there were at least 2 stories about bears up there in the news the week after.
We had so much fun.  It was so much cooler up there.  We didn't get up to our camp until about 6 so by the time we set up we just had time for the kids to play in the dirt, have smores, and then we did some sticker mosaics in the tent trailer til bed time.  Maycee talked for about an hour before she finally went to bed.  She had us laughing though.  Suddenly she would get quiet and then pretend to snore and say "I sleep!" That was followed by the longest rendition of the "happy birthday" song I've ever heard in my life.  She talked about so many random things, but once she went to sleep she stayed asleep.  And somehow her sisters fell asleep even though she was being loud.

S'more faces!

The next morning we got up and Jeff cooked breakfast.  The kids couldn't eat enough.  They LOVED his camp cooking.  The rest of the day we explored and tried to go to a couple lakes but the bumpy roads were never ending and actually made Maycee throw up.  So we ended up at Mirror lake and it was a lot of fun.  It was even a little chilly there with the breeze blowing.  The kids mostly loved playing at a little stream at our campground.  They played in the dirt and waded a little and threw rocks.  It was a really fun and relaxing day and the kids were so happy.  They loved every bit of camping.
The next morning we were woken up by Maycee yelling "OH!  A Bird!  TWEET TWEET!"  She wouldn't rest until we all knew she could hear birds.  Ha ha.  We had an easy breakfast and got our camp packed up and stopped at one last lake on the way home.  Jeff probably would have caught a fish but the kids got bored fast so we didn't stay long.  They want to fish, they just don't want to be patient.  Lol.

In their boredom the wanted to pose for pictures.  Sassy!  Ha ha.

We can't wait to go camping again.  It was really good, fun quality time and we made a lot of good memories!

Happy 5th Birthday Kaydee!!

How is our Buggy 5 years old?  Kaydee is obsessed with dogs right now, so what better than a dog birthday?  She was so excited when she got up and saw the decorations and her cake.

We had a fun day playing with her new toys and that night Grandma and Papa met us at Red Robin for dinner and then came over for cake and ice cream afterwards.

Kaydee reminds me every day what a lucky mom I am.  No matter how my day is going, one of her expressions, or jokes, or just her big hugs immediately makes things better.  She's super smart, and wants to know how everything works (just like her daddy).  She loves to sing and dance and is very artistic.  We are very excited for her to start this big year in her life where she gets to go to kindergarten and make more friends and become more independant.  We love you so much and you will ALWAYS be our little Kaydee Bug!

Birthday party

Sydnee and Kaydee asked for a combined birthday party, and they wanted it at the "pool park" which is actually Roy Aquatic Center.  We reserved a shaded pavillion there (thank goodness because it was 104 degrees that day) and we brought a picnic lunch for everyone.  The girls had a total blast.  They got totally spoiled and loved spending time with the people who came.  We are so grateful for the people in our lives who make such an effort to make things special for our kids.

The kids could not have squished in and sat any closer..

Loved their presents!

Cake!! (Before)

Cake (after) Hahahaha

Poor Papa was trying to help us carry everything out and the whole cake box collapsed and the cake went all down the front of him.  I think we made a scene from all the laughter but he was a good sport and what a funny memory to have :)
