Our little princess is 2! She had the best time celebrating. She was so excited and loved opening presents. We actually had a couple different parties for her. Grandma and Grandpa went out of town and couldn't be at her party saturday, so we did a separate party for Jeff's side of the family on tuesday, her actual birthday, so they could celebrate with her.
So saturday, we had a party at Classic Fun Center. We were so excited because Great Grandma Betty was in town, so her and Aunt Angie came to the party. It was so fun to have them there. Also Chelcie, Travis and Kayla were able to make it. And then of course Grandma, Papa, Chris, Amy, Makenzie, Christian and Madison came. Maycee had so much fun on the bouncy toys, and pirates cove, and Grandma Becky even pushed her around on a scooter for a bit. A lot of the time she wanted to just sit and drink root beer and stare at her cake, waiting for the moment she could dive in. Ha ha. When it came time to open presents, she didn't want anyone to help her. She finally got mad and came and sat on my lap to finish opening. I guess she thought I would protect her presents. She doesn't understand sharing yet. She got a lot of nice gifts and she was excited, but the thing she wouldn't let go of was the chapstick that Great Grandma gave her. I couldn't get it away from her!
Here she is with her chapstick. Lol.
Yummy cake!
She had a great time and was tuckered out, so after the party she went home and took a nap. Then we met up with my family at the park and had a picnic.
We loved spending time with Grandma Betty.
After that, we went to Chris and Amy's new house and the kids had SO much fun in their huge new house with all their fun toys. They didn't want to leave.
The next morning, sunday, Jeff had to work so I took the girls to grandma and papa's and they surprised Maycee with a Camaro! She was so excited. We were going shopping, but I couldn't get her out of the car. She kept telling me no and hugging the steering wheel. I asked her whose car it was and she would grin and point at herself with both hands. It's her new favorite thing.
Tuesday morning, she woke up to the house decorated, and her smile was never ending. She was so happy. She loved every present she got and we had so much fun.
Dancing on her floor piano.
After we got the kids ready, we took her out to show her the new bouncy castle we bought her. As you can tell, she was excited!
That night, we took her to Arctic Circle, which is her favorite place to play. Grandma and Grandpa met us there to eat. We went to our house after and they gave Maycee some presents and then we had cake and ice cream.
This is her face as we were singing.
So excited she blew out the candles!
In the last 2 years, Maycee has done nothing but bring us joy. Her smile and laugh is contagious, and it seems she is always happy. I love that she gets the giggles for no reason at all and no matter how hard I try, I can't figure out what she finds so funny. Though I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast, I'm enjoying watching the little person she is becoming. She amazes me! She's definitely one of life's greatest blessings. We love you pretty princess. Always and forever!
