Happy 5th Birthday Sydnee!!

She got up bright and early on her birthday morning, but waited patiently for Kaydee to get up to open her presents.  She even told Kaydee she could help her open them and they took turns.

All her loot we gave her.

Sydnee really wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's for her birthday.  We had dinner and played there for a while.  The kids had lots of fun.

Cute cousins.

Sydnee had a really fun birthday. After Chuck E's we went back to our house for cake and a pinata.  The kids had fun playing in the yard and everyone gave her such cool gifts. She mostly wanted crafts, books and clothes for her birthday. She's kind of getting over playing with toys.  But she's been having a hay day with all her new projects she is making.  Grandma and Papa gave her a little sewing kit and she is so proud of herself that she can do it.  It's so bittersweet seeing her grow up.  She matures a little each day.  She's so smart and so sweet and I can't imagine life without her.
On her birthday, she got a card from Great grandma and grandpa Elwood, and there was $10 in it.  She looked at the bill and said "Is that CAR Washington?"  I said no, and it's not George Washington either.  Me and Jeff laughed and laughed. She kills me.

Tumbling Recital

Sydnee and Kaydee did a great job at their recital.  They only had a small part in the two hours we were there, and they just did a little course with a forward roll, cartwheel, and jumping over the 'french fries'.  I realized how good Sydnee is at cartwheels compared to everyone else her age.
We were so glad that Grandma Becky, Grandma and Grandpa Sheriff, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Sheriff could be there.  We hope everyone will come to their recital next year too.  But this time they will be doing CHEER!  They wanted to switch, and they are really loving it.  Sydnee is the tiniest one in her new big girl class but she is keeping up ok and learning a lot.  They are having a lot of fun with it!!

Preschool graduation!

Sydnee introducing herself for her piano solo.

Piano solo, she played Mary Had a Little Lamb.

This was the cutest song ever.  There is a part that they sing 'O for opera' and then sing "aaaa aaaa aaa."  We make Kaydee do it all the time because it makes us laugh.

 Kaydee introducing herself.

I'm not sure what she played...

Getting her medal and shaking her teacher's hand.  She was the BEST teacher.  Kaydee just loved her.

Graduation was so cute.  The girls were so happy that grandma Becky and Papa, and grandma Sheriff and grandpa came.  The girls weren't shy at all and sang all their songs and did their dances.  I was so impressed.  It was a great year of preschool for both of them and we are sad it's over.  Sydnee is off to kindergarten next month!  Holy moly, I hope I'm ready for that.

Other than graduation, we've been getting ready for Sydnee and Kaydee's tumbling recital.  They've had pictures done and a dress rehearsal, they will have usual practice on tuesday, and then the recital is friday night.  They are excited.  They really love it, but now they are saying they want to do cheer, so I think we will switch.  It's still a lot of tumbling, but cheer too.  And the outfits are cuter :)
Kaydee is so funny.  She is obsessed with other people wearing makeup.  She hates when I don't have any on, and she's gone as far as saying she doesn't like someone because they didn't have makeup on.  But she did NOT want to wear it for her tumbling pictures.  Sydnee wanted to and Kaydee just didn't.  So my mom told her we could put makeup on her bear too and she finally gave in.  Ha ha.  So I was putting her blush on and she asked "Is that the mush?"  They looked really gorgeous.
Kaydee has been so funny lately.  Yesterday I called Bosco a pooch and she thought it was funny.  So a few hours later we hear her yelling "Come here HOOCHY!!"  Hoochy, come on!"  LOL!
Then yesterday the toy room was a total disaster.  I was down cleaning it up and Kaydee walked in.  She said something about the mess and I said "I know, we need to pick it up."  She looked at me and said "Well, I can't walk out of this room and pick it up at the same time." and she turned around and left.  It was hilarious.

Maycee is getting really interested in taking steps.  Sometimes she falls right down and sometimes she will take a few steps, stop and stand for a second and then take more steps.  She's just getting the balance thing down.  She also just cut her 10th tooth!  Ouch.  And she is saying some new words.  She says this, that, hi, dog, mama, dada, soft, and she tries to say hello and toys.  Love her!

Camping!

Since Jeff doesn't get weekends off during the summer, we had to jump at the chance that he had monday (Memorial Day) off, and so did my family.  We've really been wanting to go on a camping trip and take the boat so the guys could go fishing.  The weather was supposed to be good..til we planned the trip.  Every day the forecast changed for the worse..
So we left on sunday afternoon and it was windy, cold, and sprinkling on and off.  I told everyone that we could fit all 12 of us to sleep in our tent trailer since there's heat.  I was laughing to myself, thinking that when my family saw the trailer all folded up they were going to wonder what the heck I was thinking!
Anyway, we went up to East Canyon and as soon as Jeff got the trailer set up we huddled in to stay warm and the guys got a fire going.  It cleared up enough that we were able to make tinfoil dinners and Jeff cooked them over the fire.  They were delish.  After that, all the kids could think about was SMORES.  We tried to wait until dark, but finally gave in.  Then the kids were so excited to go to bed, because we put Sydnee, Kaydee, Makenzie, Christian and Madison's sleeping bags all up on the king sized bed and they couldn't wait to sleep by each other.  It didn't last.  The guys were all out by the fire, but us girls were laying with the kids trying to get them to bed.  Maycee was rolling all over in my bed and crying on and off because she had no idea what was going on.  And the other kids were bouncing around, giggling, making funny sounds, and every time Maycee would settle down I would hear Kaydee doing some high pitched squeal.  Poor Amy was right next to them and trying to get them to sleep.  (She is so patient!) She ended up moving Maddie down to her bed, moving Christian's sleeping bag since him and Kaydee had to be separated, and finally after Jeff came to bed he brought Kaydee and her sleeping bag over and she slept at our feet.  Ha ha.  So I had Maycee taking up half the queen bed, Jeff on my other side snoring, Bosco sleeping on my neck, and my legs couldn't go straight because Kaydee was there.  It was an interesting night, but still so fun and I'll always remember it.
The funniest thing was that Bosco didn't go out to go potty all night and he was on my neck and he was getting kinda wiggly.  I told Jeff I thought he needed to go out, but I reached up and noticed my shoulder was all wet and so was the sleeping bag.  Jeff grabbed him and carried him outside.  So when everyone got up I was telling my mom that he peed on me and she told me that when Jeff went to take Bosco out, he held him right over her face on the way out and she totally got peed on.  What a rude awakening!  Ah ha ha ha.
That morning we had bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, and pancakes for breakfast.  The storm was gone and it was such a pretty day.  Papa and Chris and Jeff and Bubba went out fishing and I got Maycee down for a nap, so I stayed at camp while the rest of the girls took a walk. Christian caught a fish and I guess he was pretty excited!  Papa caught a few, but one was really good sized.  They came back and we ate lunch and packed up and headed home.  It was a very short trip, but we had never taken our kids camping and wanted to see if it was something they would even enjoy.  They really did like it so I think we'll be doing it more often.  Since the girls will be done with school for a couple months, we'll be able to go during the week on Jeff's days off.
