Happy first birthday sweet Maycee!!

Yesterday we had a birthday party for Maycee and she had so much fun.  I was so excited to see her dig into some cake because she LOVES to eat.  She definitely didn't disappoint.  Once she got a tiny taste, she tried to stick her whole face in.  I loved every second of her party.  She got so many nice gifts and got to spend time with the people who love her most. She pulled strings out of her first pinata, watched her sisters open her presents while she played with paper and bows, and looked at us like we were crazy when we were all singing to her.  She was exhausted by the end and took a nice long nap after.  When she woke up she played and played with all of her new stuff.
Me and Grandma Becky made these owls out of Lindor chocolate balls and fondant.  Not bad for amateurs!
This was her cake before....
Wow, she made a mess.  Daddy had to take the high chair outside and hose it down.  He actually joked about junking it and buying a new one since it was such a mess.  There is cake all over our lawn where he cleaned it.
Maycee had to have 2 baths to get clean.  Hee Hee.  Just what I was hoping for.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone.  I can truly say I've enjoyed EVERY second of being Maycee's mom.  She just has the happiest demeanor, which started immediately.  Her daddy didn't hear her cry for at least the first two weeks after she was born.  You only have to look at her to get her to smile, and she lights up the whole room when she does.  She's very giggly, and playful, and curious.  She's happy to play by herself, or be played with.  She goes with the flow, whatever it may be that day.  She loves her older sisters, and they love to make her laugh.  It's the highlight of each day, when all 3 of them laugh and laugh together.  I love watching her do new things all the time, and her personality comes out more and more each day.  She says mama and dada, sings la la la with me, and she knows what a snake and a lion say. She still just has 6 teeth, but a molar is about to poke through as well as possibly an I-tooth.  She's drinking milk out of a sippy for all but 2 feedings a day and doing great with it.  I'm sad to wean her, but I can't nurse her forever.  She is mostly just eating what we eat now, with an occasional substitution of baby food.  She isn't walking yet, when I try to walk with her she does it for a minute and then just gets down and crawls.  I guess it's faster and she likes it that way.  She can walk while holding on to things though, and can stand for a few seconds without holding on and then chickens out and sits down.
When we decided to add one last final addition to our family, I never could have dreamed of a more perfect little person.  She's unbelievably beautiful, inside and out.
Happy birthday to my Pretty Princess, Maycee.  Mommy and daddy love you more than words could ever express!!

The last couple of weeks...

Easter was lots of fun. The sunday before, we colored eggs at grandma and papa's. Kaydee didn't like using spoons or the egg dippers, so she just kept sticking her hand in the dye. Her entire hand was colored for days. Ha ha. Then on saturday we went to an Easter egg hunt at Makenzie's school. It's a drive for us, but we've been doing it since I had kids and it is so fun that we all get to do it together and my kids love going with their cousins. I would post pictures of the hunt, but unfortunately, we didn't have any spackle that day. (Don't ask!) They have games and activities inside and then you can pay $1 for raffle tickets and they draw names for baskets of goodies at the end. Maycee was the first name called! She was such a good girl, and even though she didn't get a nap she stayed happy the whole time. Afterwards, me and grandma Becky took the kids to Mcdonalds to play and eat lunch. Maycee was trying to go to sleep at the table! Silly girl. After we got home we finished up some Easter crafts we were doing, and then made some bunny sugar cookies. On Easter morning Sydnee and Kaydee were so excited to wake up and see that the Easter bunny had been here. They giggled at the silly places the bunny hid the eggs. Then they found their baskets. Later we went to grandma and papa's and they did another hunt that was super fun and we had a delicious Easter dinner and then they each got a huge bucket full of toys and goodies. They are such lucky kids! It was a wonderful Easter!
I just love this picture! Sister love. Although, you can see that Maycee's skin is still pretty orange even though she doesn't eat as much orange food anymore.
We've been loving the nice spring weather and hope there is much more to come! Sydnee and Kaydee love taking Maycee for rides in all their different kinds of cars, and Maycee loves it too.

We were so happy that Grandma Betty was in town for her birthday and we got to spend it with her. I think she loved having so many great grandkids in one place playing together. It made us sad to say goodbye but hopefully we will be seeing her again in June!
We bought bunk beds for Sydnee and Kaydee when we moved them into the same room, but we had them separate. We finally decided they were ready to bunk and of course Kaydee wanted to be on top. They are loving it. They even like to "play bunkbeds" during the day. They were doing that yesterday and then went down to the toy room to play with their Easter stuff. Suddenly the door opened, and Sydnee is grinning ear to ear with blue stamps covering her face and arms. Kaydee was right behind her with the same thing. I was shocked! I said "What are you doing?" And I think they thought I was mad because Kaydee started to cry. But then I couldn't stop laughing. So then they were laughing and wanted to do more. I had to try and be serious enough to tell them not to do it again. I think I failed. Lol.
It's so fun being a mom to my girls. Sometimes they are very dramatic, moody and hard to handle. But other times we just laugh and laugh together and I forget all that. People always tell me they feel sorry for me having 3 girls. To that I say "You should be jealous!!" They are amazing :)
